Iceland Poppy
Papaver nudicaule
Iceland Poppy Plant Features
A charming early-spring perennial (often grown as an annual flower), Iceland poppy puts forth charming blooms in luscious springtime colors. The flowers nod above the foliage on tall, wiry stems making them perfect for fairy gardens. Iceland poppy is a perfect partner for pansies and spring-blooming bulbs. Iceland poppy does best in full sun or light shade and moist, but well-drained soil. In the South, the plant appreciates a little afternoon shade. And in the Deep South, it's more commonly grown as an annual than a perennial.
