Plant Bio

Alocasia azlanii

A relatively new and rare houseplant on the scene, Alocasia azlanii grows in Brunei on the island of Borneo and was first described in 2016. Named after plant collector Azlan Pandai, it’s a stunning addition to any plant collection thanks to its purple and lavender-flushed foliage. Like many other Alocasia species, azlanii does best in bright light, average household temperatures, and above-average relative humidity levels. Water as the top couple of inches so of the potting mix dries to the touch. If you’re in doubt about whether to water, it’s usually better to give it too little water than too much.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.
