Philodendron Squamiferum

$50.00

Philodendron squamiferum makes a statement in any room! This easy-growing houseplant shows off dark green leaves with deep, monstera-like lobes and red petioles (leaf stems) that have a decidedly fuzzy texture. It is grown and shipped fresh from our farm direct to your front door.

  • Because it grows like a vine as it matures, it’s best to give your Philodendron squamiferum a support, such as totem or moss pole, on which to climb.
  • Can climb more than 6 feet tall over time.
  • We're unable to ship this item to: AK, CA, GU, HI, PR.

Light Level: Indirect Sunlight

This plant needs to live in a room with at least some natural light. Place it on a table or countertop with windows nearby.

Water Level: Thirsty

This plant can only go 1-2 weeks without water so check on it weekly and add water every time the top two inches of soil dry out.

Quick Tips

Philodendron squamiferum takes well to pruning—so if you want to keep it full and bushy, rather than as a long vine, just pinch off the tips of the new growth periodically.

Plant Bio

Philodendron squamiferum

This philodendron is native to areas of South America and grows well in similar conditions to many of its relatives—pothos, heartleaf philodendron, and Monstera deliciosa. In bright light, it has a medium growth rate, especially if fertilized in spring and summer with a fertilizer formulated for use on houseplants. Our Plant Hunter Mike Rimland selected it for the Trending Tropicals® collection because of its durability indoors, dramatic leaves, and intriguing red petioles. Philodendron squamiferum is a winner for every houseplant collection!
