Plant Bio

Philodendron brandtianum

Philodendron brandtianum, sometimes called Brandi Philodendron for short, is loved for its silvery leaves. Though it’s native to areas of Brazil and Columbia in South America, just about anyone can grow it in their homes. Like many other Philodendron varieties, the leaves get substantially larger if the plant is grown vertically in warm, bright conditions.

It grows best in medium to bright light. It does best if placed within 3 to 4 feet of a large, unobstructed east- or west-facing window. You can supplement – or grow it entirely – under plant lights if you don’t have adequate window space. Water as the top half or so of the potting mix dries to the touch. Provide average household temperatures and average to above-average relative humidity levels.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.
