When it comes to houseplants, bigger isn’t always better. For example, one of the most exciting new introductions to our Trending Tropicals® line, is a tidy, compact fiddle leaf fig called Little Fiddle.

This handsome, must-have plant produces similar dark green lyre shaped foliage as it’s bigger cousin, but the foliage itself is half the size of the original. The leaves are packed tightly on each stem, creating a solid mass of color.

Little Fiddle Facts

Little Fiddle is a great choice for smaller homes and apartments, where a standard-sized fiddle leaf fig might not fit comfortably. They’re also short enough to be displayed on a table top or plant stand. Eventually, Little Fiddle can reach 4 feet in height when grown indoors, but it’s a slow grower so you won’t have to worry about it getting out of control.

Little Fiddle Care

These tough little houseplants thrive on bright, indirect light. Give them as much light as you can but avoid direct sun. Water thoroughly about once a week until the water runs out of the pot’s drainage holes. That way, you can be sure the entire soil ball is hydrated. It’s also smart to wipe the leaves down every week or two with a damp paper towel to remove dust and promote growth. Locate your plants away from drafty windows and heating and cooling ducts.

Little Fiddle Use

Little Fiddle makes a great accent plant in any brightly-lit room of your home. Use single specimens on a table or on a counter. Or, cluster three or more plants together to create a miniature forest in your living room or bedroom. For the holidays, consider mixing Little Fiddle with similar-sized red poinsettias for a rich Christmas display.
