About Trending Tropicals®
Here at Costa Farms, our mission is to make plants accessible to everyone. We launched the Trending Tropicals collection to make rare, unique plants affordable and available so you can enjoy these varieties. Our Plant Hunter finds new plants and test them for years. In our collection, you might find plants that are on your wishlist or varieties that are so rare you’ve never heard of them before!
Our Plant Hunter
We have a team (including Plantsman Mike Rimland) traveling the world visiting plant breeders, shows, and nurseries to find and bring back new varieties we think you’ll love. From a backyard breeder in Southeast Asia to a grower in Africa to a tradeshow in Europe, we’re always on the hunt.
Note: All our plants are responsibly sourced. We don’t collect plants from the wild and condemn plant poaching.
Making the Cut
- We want you to be successful, so Trending Tropicals are tested to ensure they grow well in homes/apartments
- They also have to hold up when we ship them to your local store or your home
- We try many varieties, but only a few make it through the testing process
- We retire selections as we find improvements so the Trending Tropicals collection stays fresh!
Watering with Ease
Our Wick & Grow® self-watering system makes caring for your Trending Tropicals a breeze. This system ensures your plant never gets too much or too little water. A Waterwick® pulls water up from a reservoir as plant roots pull moisture from the soil, keeping your plants perfectly hydrated all the time. Wick & Grow takes the stress out of plant care.
