Scindapsus Black Mamba

$49.00

Scindapsus Black Mamba is a hard-to-find (dare we say rare?) climbing/trailing houseplant that features super dark green, glossy heart-shaped leaves. This creates an exceptional that contrasts other houseplants and makes for a natural complement to other dark-leaf plants like Raven ZZ. If you allow it to climb a wall or pole, it grows with a unique shingling habit as the leaves press flat against the support surface, creating even more interest. Despite its exotic look, Scindapsus Black Mamba is pretty easy to care for, so you don’t need to be an expert to enjoy its beauty.
Order now and yours will be hand-picked and delivered fresh from our farm direct to your door. Shipping, handling, and a heat pack (if needed) is included in the price.

Plant Bio

Scindapsus Black Mamba

Hailing from Southeast Asia, Scindapsus Black Mamba is an exceptional climbing/trailing houseplant. Young plants are variegated with silver, but cuttings taken from more mature growth—like ours—have grown out of this and are evenly deep, dark green. While some strains of Black Mamba are known for a bubble- or blister-like texture, we’ve found in our growing conditions, the leaves tend to stay smooth and a darker color than other strains we’ve tested.

For the happiest plant, give it a spot with medium to bright light (within 3 feet away from a good-sized east or west window is ideal). It tolerates lower light levels but will be slower growing and the dark color won’t be as rich. Watering is a breeze thanks to the Wick & Grow self-watering system it’s in. Just add water to the reservoir as it empties and be sure to never fill the reservoir over the top of the window at the base of the pot. Average household temperatures and humidity levels are fine for this low-maintenance climber (though it does appreciate above-average relative humidity), so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.
