Philodendron Gloriosum Tinker Bell

$49.00

Bring a touch of tropical enchantment to your plant collection with Philodendron gloriosum Tinker Bell—a dwarf variety that delivers all the beauty of gloriosum in a more compact, manageable form. This stunning selection features the signature velvety, heart-shaped leaves with bright green coloring and contrasting silvery-white veins, but in a plant that stays smaller and fits perfectly in home spaces.
Unlike the standard species that can spread several feet wide, Tinker Bell maintains a more compact growth habit, making it ideal for tabletops, shelves, or anywhere you want that luxurious gloriosum look without needing a lot of room. It grows as a crawling plant with leaves emerging from the rhizome, but you won't need to dedicate an entire corner of your home to it. For plant lovers who want the elegance of gloriosum without the space commitment, Tinker Bell is the perfect choice.
Though it looks exotic, Philodendron Tinker Bell is wonderfully easy to grow when you understand its needs. With bright light, regular watering (made simple with our Twist.Lift.Water.™ self-watering system), and average household conditions, it grows steadily and rewards you with bold, beautiful foliage. Ready to add this rare tropical beauty to your collection? Order now and we'll hand-select your plant fresh from our family-run farm. Philodendron gloriosum Tinker Bell

PPAF
Philodendron gloriosum is native to tropical regions of Colombia and Central and South America where it grows along the forest floor as a creeping plant. Instead of climbing like many philodendrons, it spreads horizontally as its rhizome moves across the soil surface. Tinker Bell is a dwarf selection prized for its more compact growth habit and lush, velvety foliage with prominent silvery-white veining. While standard gloriosum can spread 3–4 feet or more, Tinker Bell typically stays in the 12–18 inch range, making it far more manageable for home growing.
Like most philodendrons, this variety grows best in bright light. Natural or artificial light both work well. Place it within a couple of feet of an unobstructed east- or west-facing window, or under plant lights for best results. It tolerates medium light levels, but growth may slow and the foliage may not reach its full potential. It can take some gentle morning sun (until about 10 am) through a window, particularly in Northern climates.
In our testing processes, Philodendron Tinker Bell has grown beautifully in our Twist.Lift.Water.™ self-watering system. The waterwick pulls water up from the reservoir as the plant needs it, keeping the potting mix evenly moist but not overly wet—exactly what this plant prefers. Just refill the reservoir regularly without overfilling, and the plant takes care of the rest.
This variety grows well in average household temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Thanks to its tropical origins, it holds up well during warm weather and doesn't need special care when temperatures rise. However, it doesn't like cold drafts or sudden temperature drops—keep it above 60°F/15.5°C for best results.
While Philodendron Tinker Bell adapts well to typical indoor environments, it appreciates above-average humidity (around 50–60 percent or higher) if you're able to provide it. Higher humidity helps produce larger, more impressive leaves and prevents crispy leaf edges. A humidifier, pebble tray, or placement in a naturally humid room will keep it happiest.

How is Tinker Bell different from other Philodendron gloriosum types?
•    Compared to standard Philodendron gloriosum, Tinker Bell is a dwarf variety that stays significantly more compact (12–18 inches vs. 3–4 feet or more)
•    Compared to Philodendron hederaceum, Philodendron gloriosum ‘Tinker Bell’ has velvety, heart-shaped foliage with bold contrasting veins and a creeping growth habit rather than the thinner trailing vines typical of hederaceum
•    Compared to Philodendron verrucosum, Tinker Bell stays far more compact and easier to manage indoors, with less elongated foliage and without the fuzzy petioles characteristic of verrucosum
Patent Notice: Philodendron Tinker Bell (Philodendron gloriosum Tinker Bell) is patent pending. Propagation prohibited.
