When young, Golden Goddess is a good choice for desks and tabletops. With consistent care over time, it can climb 6 feet or more (becoming even more of a showpiece with age). Like many other philodendrons (as well as pothos, their close relatives), Golden Goddess will show off larger leaves if grown vertically and in warm, bright conditions.

This philodendron pairs well with other climbing varieties (such as Brasil), as well as pothos and many monstera, making it a versatile and colorful addition to your home or office.

Golden Goddess Philodendron Growing Instructions

Light
Golden Goddess does best in medium to bright indirect light. Unsure about how much light the place you are thinking about growing it gets? As a guideline, in low light you can read a book or magazine without having to supplement. In a medium light spot, the plant will cast a soft or light shadow. In bright light, the plant will have a strong shadow.

Water
Like many other aroids, this vine is sensitive to overwatering. Be sure to let the top couple of inches of the potting mix dry before watering again. It holds up reasonably well to drought, but looks and grows best if the potting mix isn't allowed to dry out.

Humidity
Golden Goddess philodendron prefers above-average relative humidity, but also does well in more average conditions. If you have particularly dry air in your home (especially in winter), boost the ambient moisture by grouping your philodendron with other houseplants. Or place a small humidifier nearby. You can also grow it on a pebble tray.

Fertilizing
Fertilize Golden Goddess in spring and summer, if you wish. Use a fertilizer formulated for use on houseplants. Just be sure to follow the directions on the product packaging. Never apply more fertilizer than the instructions recommend. Over fertilization can cause root damage. 

Pruning
Pruning this vine typically is not necessary. If desired, you can pinch off the new growth to encourage it to branch and become fuller, rather than putting all its energy from one main shoot.

Golden Goddess philodendron is an ornamental plant and not intended for human or animal consumption. Keep it out of reach of children or pets that may chew or nibble.
