Variegated Hoya Rope

$54.00

Variegated Rope Hoya (Hoya compacta Variegata) is an exceptionally beautiful—and relatively hard-to-findhouseplant. It is uniquely beautiful, showing off lush, twisted, white-variegated leaves that trail from the hanging basket we grow it in. When happy, it shows off clusters of star-shaped soft pink flowers that make for a beautiful complement against the variegation. Variegated Rope Hoya is delightfully easy to grow as it holds up to low light and forgotten waterings like a champ

Plant Bio

Hoya compacta Variegata

Also called Hoya carnosa ‘Compacta Variegata’, this Hoya shows off dark green leaves that curl and twist along the stem. Each leaf is edged in white with a reddish leaf tip. Somewhat uncommon in commercial horticulture because it is notoriously slow growing, it’s an easy-care and rewarding houseplant.

To keep Variegated Rope Hoya happy, grow it in bright light. It can tolerate low light but may not bloom and will be even slower growing. Loved for being drought tolerant, it can survive the potting mix almost completely drying out although it grows best when watered as the top half or so of the potting mix dries to the touch. It grows well in average household temperature and humidity levels.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.
